Sunday is Father’s Day. A time to celebrate dads everywhere. Whether it is your biological father, a mentor or someone that has given you unconditional support, take time to show the man that has had a profound influence on your life just how special he really is. Father’s Day is synonymous with cookouts, golf and family. To honor the dads in your life, I am sharing some tips to make him feel special on his day and throughout the year.
Create A Man Cave
Does your dad have a special room designated just for him? If not, then creating a man cave for your dad may be just the thing. A room designated just for him. A place to watch sports or hang out with his buddies. Man caves should be all about celebrating masculinity. Dark walls with warm rich furniture in leather or wood is perfect for this space. Add a sectional sofa or recliner to relax while he watches the game. Or, maybe a pool or poker table so that when friends come to hang out they can do something other than just watch tv. Add a mini refrigerator, a bar area for snacks and mixing any drinks. Dad will appreciate that you have designed this special room just for him. Add shelves for sports memorabilia and a big screen tv and dad’s man cave will be perfect.
Outdoor Grilling Area
If your dad loves to barbeque then a new outdoor grilling area may be the perfect gift for him. Create a beautiful outdoor space with a grill, smoker, mini fridge and sink. A covered stone patio or one with a pergola like the picture above would make any dad enjoy grilling for the family. Lighting adds ambiance as the sun sets. A table surrounded by chairs so that the family can gather to enjoy a meal cooked by dad or a place to relax and enjoy time while grilling is in progress. New grilling tools will complete the package. Any dad would appreciate this gift.
A New Home Office
If your dad works from home then a new home office may be just the thing he needs. Add a new desk with a comfortable chair. Storage space will probably also be needed. Brass, leather and earth tones will help give his office a masculine feel. The addition of an area rug and window treatments will add texture and depth to the space. An office like this will make dad glad that he is able to work from home.
So, as Father’s Day approaches, I wish dads everywhere a very special day. May you feel loved and cared about not just on this day set aside to celebrate you but every day. Dads work so hard for their families and deserve appreciation and celebration each day. To all dads, here’s wishing you a Happy Father’s Day!
Until next time,
