Fall has finally arrived! Although here in Atlanta we are still having record heat. I am definitely ready for it to cool down and the humidity to go away. I am beginning to wonder if we are going to actually have a fall here in the South.
With the official arrival of fall I am seeing pumpkins, gourds and all types of fall décor. For many you just have to look out your window to know a new season has begun but let’s talk about how to bring fall into your home.
I did some research this week and found so many wonderful things that you can add to your home to bring the season indoors. I thought it would be fun to share some of those items with you. You will find a list with a link to each item at the end of the blog post. These are things that I would definitely use in my home. In fact, I am planning on purchasing several of them:)
Invite Nature Indoors
There are a number of items above that will help you usher fall into your home. This season of the year is all about nature. Colorful leaves, pumpkins, gourds, sticks. It is so easy to add these items to your home. Walk in your yard and gather sticks to put in a vase. The texture and shape of each is different and will add beauty to any room. I love to add pumpkins not only outdoors on our front porch but also inside. I particularly love the look of small orange but also white pumpkins. Then add, green, yellow or gold gourds and you have a centerpiece. Votive candles add a warm glow during a dinner party. You might even consider using wood rings as plate chargers.
Use Natural Fabrics
The use of natural fabrics in your space is another excellent way to add a touch of fall. Think about using burlap as a table runner. Then you could add your centerpiece. Simple but it would make a statement. Natural cotton pillows or drapes would also be another suggestion.
Use Autumn Colors
We have talked about bringing nature into your home and the use of natural fabrics. But, another way to bring fall into your home is through the use of autumn colors-reds, greens, golds, browns. I am naturally drawn to these colors and you will find a lot of them incorporated into our décor. Simple things like adding candles in a rich color add warmth. The addition of a cozy throw blanket or fun pillows are great ways to use autumn colors in your home.
As promised, here is the list of fall items and where they can be found. Just click on the link next to each item.
