Hello spring! We are glad you are here. For many, the winter has been long and cold and filled with lots of snow. Here in Atlanta, it has been cold, gray and filled with rain. Now that spring is finally here it is time to incorporate the beautiful colors we are seeing outside into our homes. There are 5 color palettes that I want to share with you that will get us excited for spring.
Coral and Turquoise
The first color pair that I am excited about this spring is coral and turquoise. You may remember that Pantone announced in January that their “Color of the Year” is Living Coral. You may have read my blog post on Living Coral and how it will be seen throughout home décor in 2019. It pairs well with many colors but I particularly love it with turquoise. Together they remind me of the beach and bring a relaxing atmosphere into any home.
Mint and Lilac
Our daughter is getting married in May. It will be a spring wedding in Charleston, South Carolina! She has chosen lilac as the color of her bridesmaids dresses. Lilac is a beautiful soft spring color that pairs well with mint. The two colors together are a match made in heaven. They make for a soothing bedroom or a calm, relaxing nursery for a new arrival.
Pale Blue and White
Pale blue and white are two colors that will always pair well together. They can be found in wallpaper, tile and fabrics. They soften any room and bring a calm and coziness. It can also be found in pillows and wall art. This color combination is a great gender neutral palette that will look great in any room. Benjamin Moore’s Watercolor Blue looks beautiful on walls or even cabinets.
Yellow and White
Yellow and white just make you happy. It’s like daisies in a room all year long. And daisies just make me smile; they are happy flowers. Add a touch of yellow and white in your kitchen or breakfast area and even on a gray winter day you will have a bit of sunshine in your house. Pair it with chartreuse or let it stand alone. Either way it will be like having a garden inside.
Moss and Gold
Two colors that give a luxurious look to any home are moss and gold. They are a simple way to add elegance to a room. For example, the use of mossy green walls and gilded sconces or a mirror will give a timeless look. You may even consider adding these colors through the use of accent pieces such as pillows with gold décor. You can’t go wrong with this beautiful color combination.
So there you have it. These are just a few of the color palettes that are getting us excited for spring. I hope you have found inspiration and will find a way to use one of these combinations or another one that you like to bring a bit of spring indoors. Spring is all about color; find one that makes you happy.
Until next time,
